Pictures of the time in Finland

Behind the wheel is driver Jari ”Wehny jr” Vehniäinen. The whole team is from Rauma. No-one from Pori has tried to infiltrate from Pori ;)

When building a nostalgic dragster, one very important point was to make it able to drive back on a come-back strip, while the frame was sagging /buckling? driverfriendly and wooing the public. The teams consistant cothes was avious and nobody in the team slipped from it. The Milner racing team outfit known from the movie American Graffiti II was working as the whole teams t-shirt. Those were not sold to outsiders!

On the picture the Dragster is been towed and consequently, the engine is turned off. Pictures are from July 1992, when the dragster had been built the winter before and the driver drove his license with it in Nitronatiols, Alastaro 1992.

The first one in Finland

The Front-engine dragster from Rauma is unique in our national tracks, because nothing equivalent has ever raced our tracks. However, according to very strong rumors this is quiqly about to change. In the metropolitan area another one, though a bit shorter slingshot dragster is been put together for racing purpose. And some rumors told about others in Pori... Good luck for these new Front-engine teams!

At the moment FED –front-engine dragster- is spending its well earned retirement on the hands of its owner from Rauma and at the moment is waiting for the installation a new tail end. The purpose of this homepage is to activate the team members as well as work as a public forum for grand audience.

 

The feature is unknown at the moment; Is the team is going to keep storing the dragster or even race it again? There has also been speculation of selling the dragster to Sweden for example, mut enough interest and money has not yet occured for the sail to take place.

Dragster hasn’t been driven in this millenium, but if that happens, there might be a change on it’s way.
Plans have been made for using a small-blocked V8 with a blower.

Only time will tell what will happen. Time is ticking for the benefit of the dragster, the older it gets the stronger its nostalgic value grows…
